Intel began shipping passive-cooled NUC Chaco Canyon mini-PCs

Announced in September, the Intel NUC Chaco Canyon mini-computer received the status of a serial product. The novelty is based on a single-chip Intel Celeron N3350 system (2 cores / 2 threads, 1.1 / 2.4 GHz) from the 14-nm Apollo Lake family with a nominal heat packet of 6 watts. Recall that the distinctive feature of the NUC 8 Rugged systems is passive cooling.

Dimensions NUC Chaco Canyon 154 x 108 x 32 mm. Two USB 2.0 ports, a pair of USB 3.2, an RJ-45 gigabit network interface connector, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and HDMI 1.4 and 2.0a video outputs are available on the sides of the case. The work of the latter is provided by the integrated graphics core HD Graphics 500. The novelty is powered by an external adapter with a nominal value of 65 watts.

Four gigabytes of LPDDR3-1866 memory, an eMMC solid-state drive with a capacity of 64 GB and two M.2 connectors, one of which is already occupied by the Intel Wireless-AC 3168 wireless module (Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2), are soldered on the board. In the second M.2 slot, you can install an SSD with a PCI Express 2.0 x4 or SATA 6 Gb / s interface.

The Intel NUC Chaco Canyon (NUC 8 Rugged) mini-computer is available for purchase on foreign platforms with a price of $ 246 or more.
