Video cards are rapidly falling in price in the secondary market in China

Starting in May, the Chinese authorities began to seriously tighten control over cryptocurrencies in the country. In some provinces, legal mining is completely prohibited, and cryptocurrency operations, as well as any cooperation in this area, have been banned from banks and financial institutions in China since June.

Obviously, these repressive measures against mining are leading to global changes in the Chinese financial space. One of the side factors in the fight against cryptocurrencies is the sharp increase in offers for used video cards.

According to foreign colleagues, wholesale prices for GeForce RTX 3060 batches range from 2,200 to 2,900 yuan (335-450 US dollars). Moreover, one seller lowered the price to 1,760 yuan ($ 270) amid low interest from potential buyers. At the same time, Chinese marketplaces are full of announcements for the sale of gaming laptops with GeForce RTX 3060 for about $ 1000.

Be aware that buying a used graphics card after mining can be risky. Working 24/7 under load with overclocked memory and fans at full speed could lead to future breakdowns. In addition, do not forget about dishonest Chinese “businessmen” who sell old or low-performance video cards under the guise of more expensive models.
